CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The City of Charleston Board of Architectural Review – Large will meet Wednesday to review one of the largest proposed developments on the peninsula.
The board is expected to look at five applications for 134 Columbus Street, which includes the conceptual site plan and four buildings. Evening Post Publishing Company, the owner of the property, has been working with community members and organizations to design this proposed development. This is the final phase for Courier Square.
“Courier Square really goes from Columbus Street all the way to Saint Philip Street, and King Street in the middle. It’s the redevelopment of the old Evening Post Publishing Property in the heart of downtown, a place we always envisioned would be a really special place in Charleston,” Tim Keane, planning director of the City of Charleston, said. “Thankfully, the developer in this case has had the highest standard with regard to the design and development of all our Courier Square.”…
