(KRON) — A preliminary magnitude 3.0 earthquake was felt in the South Bay Tuesday afternoon. The quake struck about 5.4 miles west of Cupertino and 5 miles south-southwest of Mountain View, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake, which was 4.3 miles south-southwest of Los Altos, struck at around 2:17 p.m., the USGS said. There were no preliminary reports of damages or injuries in relation to the quake.
