24 buoys mark ‘vessel exclusion zone’ in Pensacola Beach soundside ahead of air show

PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. — Officials have deployed 24 buoys and signage in the soundside of Pensacola Beach to create a “vessel exclusion zone” for the upcoming Pensacola Beach Air Show.

“The vessel exclusion zone will begin from the shoreline between Flounders and the Santa Rosa Island Authority Administrative Building and extend approximately 250 yards into the sound,” Escambia County said Tuesday in a release. “The purpose of the vessel exclusion zone is to provide an access point for first responders entering and exiting the water when responding to calls.”…
