A physician in Norma, Okla., is opening a new endocrinology clinic following Norman Regional Hospital’s closure of its Endocrine Para/Thyroid Center, The Normal Transcript reported July 4.
The hospital closed its only endocrinology clinic on July 2, laying off 10% of staff. The clinic was vital, serving patients from across Oklahoma and even Texas due to the state’s high diabetes rates (5th highest in the U.S.).
