A 51-year-old Braidwood man is facing three felony charges after a shooting that occurred in Braidwood on July 4th. Ronald Tvrz was charged with two counts of the unlawful possession of a firearm by a weapon and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, all class three felonies. The Braidwood Police Department was notified of a report involving a convicted felon discharging a firearm at an acquaintance who was wearing a bulletproof vest in the 1000 block of North Division Street.
The alleged discharging of a firearm occurred on July 4th and the report was taken on July 5th. After an investigation, the Braidwood Police Department, Wilmington Police Department and the Grundy County REACT Team executed a search warrant at the aforementioned address. Police officials say two firearms and a bulletproof vest were recovered.
Tvrz was arrested and transported to the Will County Jail. The Braidwood Police Department said there is no threat to the public and no other information has been released as the investigation remains ongoing…
