City of Omaha removes one junkyard eyesore while owner of another faces charges

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – First Alert 6 was on the scene when law enforcement and code inspectors took action on two separate eyesores.

At 24th and Evans Street on Tuesday morning, the city brought in a fleet of tow trucks to haul away 29 vehicles, trailers and containers from a North Omaha corner.

Neighbors have long complained about the eyesore, and after giving the property owner several warnings, the planning department, backed by Omaha police, removed and cleared the junk…
