New street in northeast Springfield will improve traffic flow

SPRINGFIELD, MO – This summer, drivers on the city’s northeast side are encountering some road work that’s leading to one brand new street and another that’s improved.

City contractors are currently building a brand-new road to improve traffic in an industrial area. As part of a months-long project, crews are extending Eastgate Avenue from its current endpoint at Division Street, north and east to Lecompte Road. The new corridor will be an elbow shape connecting the east-west and north-south connecting roads.
