Haywood County Schools faces bus driver shortage with 16 positions still unfilled

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — School starts in Haywood County in just over a month, but right now, the district is short of 16 bus drivers.

School leaders say there are a variety of reasons for that: Work hours are split with several hours in the morning and some in the afternoon. The pay ranges from $15.80 per hour to $20.14 after 30 years.
