County Commission to consider supporting planned TriStar, Ascension Saint Thomas hospitals

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Commission on Monday discussed a resolution to support the two applications for new hospitals in Clarksville.

Ascension Saint Thomas and TriStar Hospitals have announced plans to build full-service hospitals with ERs in Clarksville, pending the approval of state Certificates of Need (CON) by the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission in a hearing on July 23. The county is now looking to support each CON request.

“Growth in Montgomery County justifies the demand for additional health care, and health care is a vital component of proper planned growth for Montgomery County, Tennessee,” said the resolution. “It is important to the citizens of Montgomery County to prepare for their safety, health and the prosperity of their community through the fostering of necessary and needed essential healthcare services.”…
