OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — A Fourth of July celebration in Oakland turned tragic when Tim Conover was shot and killed by a family friend at a house party. The incident occurred on 41st Street, where Conover, who was serving as the grill master, was fatally shot by a neighbor and close family friend, according to his fiancée, Zazzi Cribbs.
“It’s just wild to know that this could happen,” Cribbs said, describing the suspect as someone who was intoxicated and possibly on drugs.
Oakland police responded to the shooting around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. Cribbs recounted that the confrontation began after Conover approached the suspect about urinating on the floor.
