Lexington Fire Department investigating fires at vacant house

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 News Now) — Fire crews responded overnight to a fire at a vacant home on East Maxwell Street after a passerby spotted smoke and flames.

According to the Lexington Fire Department, the call came in just before 1 a.m. Monday. When firefighters arrived, they discovered and quickly extinguished two small fires — one on the first floor of the home and another on the second.

The home was vacant at the time and is scheduled for demolition, officials said. No injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced…
