A tropical “Xmas in July” pop-up bar is coming to St. Pete this summer

In what will be a Very Florida experience, a tropical “Xmas in July” pop-up bar is taking over downtown St. Pete this week. Glamper St. Pete, the latest concept on the Jannus Block from local stars Forward Hospitality Group, announced that it will transform into a Christmas-y tropical oasis for the rest of the month.

The tiki takeover begins on Wednesday, July 9, bringing a holiday experience to the full bar and the outdoor patio on Central Avenue. It will be like St. Pete’s own balmy little Rockefeller Plaza, complete with hula skirts adorning the Christmas tree.

The team at Glamper has kept a tight lid on details as they prepare to unveil the tropical Christmas explosion, but they’ve given a few hints as to what to expect. And given how immersive and popular their pop-up Christmas experience was last December, we expect this more island-friendly version to be every bit as impressive.

While there will certainly be some similarities between the sparkling lights and ornament-bedecked Frasier firs, this version will be more fitting of its summertime, Florida coast debut. Think Santas in sunglasses, flip-flop ornaments, palm trees covered in colorful Christmas lights, and hula skirts everywhere…
