Community activist talks about rash of violent crime, young suspects in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Clifford Ryan is behind the nonprofit community group OG’s Against Violence in Syracuse. He lost one of his sons at 17 to gun violence in 1999.

For years now, he’s been holding up his signs in areas where violent crimes happen. CNY Central went to Ryan following a homicide near the Onondaga Park pool, and a crash involving a stolen vehicle in the past couple of weeks.
