Pedestrian hit by vehicle in west Toledo, critically injured

TOLEDO, Ohio — A man from New York state has been hospitalized after he was struck by a pickup truck by the Monroe Street and Central Avenue intersection in west Toledo Monday afternoon.

The pedestrian, 49, “sustained serious internal injuries from the crash and is in critical but stable condition,” according to the Toledo Police Department.

Police say the driver, a 74-year-old from Toledo, was traveling east on Monroe Street when he merged from the left lane to the right curb lane “because the vehicle in front of his had slowed down.”…
