SEDGWICK COUNTY — An inmate accused in an attack on a Kansas jail deputy is due back in court Wednesday afternoon for a preliminary hearing.
James Chavez, 21, will appear before Judge Chrystal Krier and could enter a plea in the case, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office. In Apil Chaves was charged with aggravated battery.
