New Florida law allows handicap parking for pregnant women

PENSACOLA, Fla. — A new Florida law allows pregnant women to get a handicap parking permit.

It took effect July 1. State Representative Fiona McFarland, a mother of three, initially introduced the bill.

To obtain the parking permit, expecting mothers must submit form HSMV 83040 with a doctor’s signature to the Florida Department of Safety and Motor Vehicles. The permits cost $15 are valid for one year…
