Police seek driver behind apparent ‘road rage’ shooting on Springfield highway

Police are still searching for a driver who allegedly shot another man on I-495 last month in an apparent act of road rage.

Around 9:12 a.m. on June 11, the victim was driving south on I-495 in a brown 1999 Chevy Suburban SUV near Duke Street in Alexandria when they might’ve cut off the driver of a black BMW sedan, according to the Virginia State Police.

“The two vehicles continued driving until they pulled off onto the shoulder where Interstates 395, 495, and Route 644 all meet,” state police said today (Tuesday) in a press release, referring to the Old Keene Mill Road interchange in Springfield. “Once the vehicles were on the shoulder, there was a confrontation, and the victim was shot once.”…
