Suspected drunk driver accused of killing boy on ATV, bicyclist months apart

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A man is accused of driving drunk and killing two people within six months, including a 13-year-old boy.

Antonio Tremayne Weldon, Jr. is charged with two counts of reckless manslaughter for crashes that happened in October 2024, and March 2025.

In October 2024, Braylen Hardy was on his ATV on Avenue E when Birmingham Police said he was hit by a driver fleeing a nearby shooting. At the time, a BPD spokesman said the driver, now identified as Weldon, ran from the scene but was taken into custody a few blocks from the crash. He was not charged at the time…
