HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — During a news conference Tuesday, the parents of Jabari Peoples asked for transparency into the investigation of the fatal police shooting of 18-year-old Jabari.
The family was joined by attorney Ben Crump and Leroy Maxwell. Crump, who has gained attention on the national stage for several high-profile wrongful death cases, including representing the families of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd, announced that he will assist the Peoples’ family. Peoples was shot and killed by a police officer in Homewood last month.
