WNBA All-Stars Coming To Violence Ridden Indianapolis

Tony Katz:

So even though it’s more than a week away the WNBA All Star game, the events are already coming. It doesn’t matter what you think about the WNBA, what matters is Indianapolis… I hope looking good. And hey, to all the parents out there, 14-, 15- and 16-year-olds, how about you don’t let your kids shoot anybody, huh? “Ohh Tony, how dare you!” No, no, no, no, we’ve been talking so much about the violence in Indianapolis, I think we’ve lost sight of the fact that two kids were killed. Parents are burying children. I don’t know about you but that’s not the Indianapolis I want. But I was told I’m not allowed to talk about it cause I’m not from Indy. Sure, OK for those people. You realize how stupid you sound now. You always sounded like this. We’ve known it for years. Don’t be silly, ridiculous childlike pablum coming out of your mouths when “we always just knew how to run a. City.” But you don’t. And right now, parents are burying children. So yeah, I need parents to do better, and it’d be great if there was more leadership actually engaged in this conversation, not less, Including the Fever and the Pacers and yes, the Colts. I’ll throw the Indy Eleven in there even though they’ve already been thrown out of Indianapolis. Good job, Joe Hogsett and of course. Every elected official, never mind every civic leader, never mind everybody who’s got a business with a name high up on the building. Just a statement. We don’t do this here. We’re not Chicago. Parents, keep an eye on your kids. Because what we want is the WNBA All Star Weekend… That’s kind of fantastic. We want every weekend to be fantastic.
