Pinellas schools help to close achievement gap between girls and boys with ‘Camp Read Strong’

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — It’s not necessarily a competition between boys and girls when it comes to reading, but if it were a competition, girls would win.

For the 2023-2024 school year, Florida’s Department of Education reports a 6% gap between female and male students on English Language Arts achievement.
