South Texas Forecast: Dangerous Heat Continues, Isolated Storms Possible This Weekend in Laredo and Beeville

Corpus Christi, Texas – Residents across South Texas should prepare for continued triple-digit temperatures and hazy conditions through early next week, with scattered rain and storms possible over the weekend. Highs are expected to range from 90 to 100 degrees, while overnight lows will settle between 75 and 80 degrees.

According to the US National Weather Service Corpus Christi Texas, the heat will persist, particularly inland. Cities like Laredo, Cotulla, and Tilden could see temperatures reaching 99 to 98 degrees today and throughout the weekend. Coastal areas, including Corpus Christi and Port Lavaca, will experience slightly cooler but still hot conditions, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.

A moderate risk of rip currents is also in effect for area beaches, including those around Port Aransas, until at least Monday. Beachgoers should exercise caution and swim near lifeguards when possible. While chances for rain and storms remain moderate this weekend (40% Saturday, 35% Sunday), they are expected to be isolated, providing little relief from the intense heat.
