SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The Springfield community is reacting following the city releasing details about a study to build a new convention and event center in town.
There are three sites the city has previously considered as a potential location for the center. As KY3 reported before, one of those locations would be at Lake Springfield, another where the old Kmart once stood on Sunshine Street near Bass Pro Shops. The third location in the empty lot on the east side of the Springfield Expo Center on St. Louis Street.
The city hasn’t said which of the sites it was favoring, but some businesses near the site on St. Louis Street, tell KY3 they would welcome the new convention center…
