Daily forecast | From First Alert Meteorologist Tim Strong

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Our high pressure ridge (aka heat dome) from early this week has broken down and given way to upper level troughing that will lead to higher storm chances and more seasonal temperatures. This pattern will continue into Friday before another ridge builds over the region this weekend.

There is a marginal risk for severe storms today for the threat of isolated damaging wind gusts and large hail. Severe weather chances will likely be limited in duration and intensity, but stay weather aware for outdoor plans. Flash flooding will be possible as slow moving storms produce rainfall rates over 1″ per hour.

The upper level trough over the region today and Friday will result in increased cloud cover, higher rain chances and seasonal temperatures. Highs today and Friday will be in the lower to middle 90s.

Isolated severe weather will likely remain possible through Friday. Stay weather aware…
