SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) – The Summerville Police said one of the alleged, self-proclaimed gang members who was arrested months ago for shoplifting, is now facing murder charges in Chicago.
Gabriel Edison Romero, 29, of Venezuela, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated armed kidnapping, and three counts of aggravated unlawful restraint, according to police chief Douglas Wright.
When officers arrested the three self-proclaimed Venezuela-based gang members known as Tren de Aragua (TdA) for shoplifting in February 2025, they contacted the United States Homeland Security Investigations and Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation.
All three men were transported to the Dorchester County Detention Center, where they were booked and lodged pending the bond hearing for their charges…
