CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Whether it is normal river conditions or unexpected flash flooding, countless training hours and resources go behind each swift water rescue.
Odds are, if a call for rescue goes out in flood water or rapids anywhere throughout Charlottesville and Albemarle County, a group of dedicated volunteers with CARS will be among those responding on scene.
“Not only does Charlottesville Fire have a swift water rescue team, but CARS also has a swift water rescue team,” said Charlottesville Fire Deputy Chief Will Broscious. “So, we work in collaboration to keep our community safe in times of need.”…
