On June 23, 2025, Fernando Mercenari began a journey that paid homage to his son Luciano, who tragically died a year earlier.
Fernando told his family that to honor the one-year anniversary of Luciano’s passing, he was going to swim around the Island of Key Biscayne.
Swimming had always brought Fernando peace and ever since Luc’s death, he had spent countless hours in the ocean but never had he trained for such a daunting task.
