WATCH: Shark caught on Pensacola Beach

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A large shark was caught around 5 a.m. on Pensacola Beach Thursday.

Pensacola police chief steps down, mayor names acting chief

Anglers Trey Linder and Steve Callaway caught the 11-foot-8-inch shark, which was estimated to weigh around 1000 lbs.

The anglers told News 5 that the shark was tagged and released back into the Gulf for research for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
