ROCHESTER, N.Y. – There may be a cougar roaming around Rochester, according to members of the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). News10NBC’s Marsha Augustin visited the Beechwood neighborhood, where surveillance video captured what might be a cougar.
Brad Gibson, a professor at the University of Southern New Hampshire, measured a tree seen in the video to estimate the size of the animal.
“The cat seems to be, height wise, about twice as wide as this tree. The trees width measures 20 to 22 inches. So that would make it upward of 30 inches or so,” Gibson said…
