HAMMETT, ID — A Meridian man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly pointing a firearm at another driver on Interstate 84 near Hammett, according to the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched around 4:07 p.m. on July 8 to a report of a road rage incident involving a weapon near milepost 113 westbound, approximately one mile west of Hammett. The victim, who was not injured, provided a detailed description of the suspect, the vehicle, and the firearm.
Elmore County deputies located the suspect’s vehicle at milepost 74 on I-84 westbound and conducted a traffic stop. Deputies identified the driver as Lance Dunlap of Meridian and discovered a loaded firearm during a consent search of the vehicle.
