BOISE — Boise City Council moved to adopt an ordinance Tuesday that encourages greenbelt users to control their speed or potentially face consequences.
The decision marks a change to the city code that previously went before the council during a work session in August as it looked to align the city with other municipalities that share the roughly 42 miles of greenbelt trails and pathways from Lucky Peak to near Eagle Island State Park.
“I don’t know that this is the end-all be-all solution to the problem of speeding on the greenbelt,” Council Member Jimmy Hallyburton said. “I think it’s a good step to getting everybody on the same page.”…
