BOISE – Authorities have ended their multi-day search for triple homicide suspect Travis Decker in Idaho’s Sawtooth National Forest after determining that a man believed to be Decker was mistakenly identified.
On Wednesday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force located and interviewed a man who had been spotted over the Fourth of July weekend by several campers near the Bear Creek Campground, east of Boise.
The man closely resembled Decker—sharing a similar height, build, dark hair, a beard, and tattoos on both his arm and calf—but was ultimately ruled out as the fugitive.
