Clearwater Aquarium shares Gulf World dolphins’ acclimation

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Just over a month ago, dolphins Doris, Kitana, Dagny and Wren were transported from Gulf World in Panama City Beach to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

They went through an extensive acclimation process to make sure the dolphins were healthy before joining the other dolphins already at the facility.

“So all four dolphins, they first came into our medical pool located in the middle of our stone complex, and that medical pool is outfitted with a false bottom. So when they were first brought in, we do a 24-hour observation for a period of time until our veterinarians and our animal care team say both behaviorally and medically these animals are good,” said Zoological Care Vice President Kelly Martin…
