MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – CrimeStoppers 215-STOP is increasing the cash reward amount for information that leads to a suspect and arrest in the May 2021 murder of Ronnie Phifer.
Montgomery police responded to an apartment on Fairwest Place around 10 p.m. on the night of May 25, 2021. That’s where they found Phifer suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An initial arrest was made on June 8 of that year, but the warrant was dismissed a month later when unspecified new evidence came to light.
In late 2022, another man turned himself in to police after investigators determined he’d pawned a piece of Phifer’s jewelry the day after the homicide. That man was also later released…
