Several conspiracies allude to government weather control in the United States. This list includes cloud seeding, “chem” trails, high-frequency active auroral research in Alaska (HAARP), and now weather radars.
A television station in Oklahoma City reported its radar had been vandalized on Tuesday. It has been suggested that the vandalism may be in connection to an anti-government miltia group called Veterans on Patrol. While the group has made statements against weather radars in the past, Oklahoma City police haven’t confirmed a connection between the two.
Despite a little truth being found in certain conspiracies, there is no truth in that radars can manipulate the weather. A weather radar is used for weather surveillance.
What does a radar do then?
Radars operate similarly to how a sonar works, except radars use radio waves and sonars use sound waves. The radar sends out a pulse that bounces off a particle and returns to the radar. The radar then records the size and density of the object, allowing us to identify what type of weather is being observed (rain, snow, ice, or hail)…
