Cops not letting crime ripples become crime waves

Part of the success story in New Orleans’ reduction in crime is how law enforcement has stayed flexible, and not let occasional increases in crime turn into full-blown crime waves.

New Orleans Metropolitan Crime Commission President Rafael Goyeneche watches crime trends as they move and up and down, and he says the ups on the crime charts don’t last as long as they used to.
