Water main break persists, several attempts to fix it have failed

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — All four lanes of May Avenue are shut down from NW 69th and NW 72nd, while crews continue to repair a 48-inch water line that had burst on Wednesday.

Businesses along the damaged road are closed during repairs, while others just south of the road block are operating as usual.

Oklahoma City Utilities says they made several attempts to repair the break, but each of them has failed. Crews have spent over 24 hours working around the clock to fix the issue.

In a statement to News 4, OKC Utilities says there are several factors that make repairs difficult and that repairs could go into the weekend.

While some businesses remain unaffected, just down the road, Integris Baptist Medical Center is taking a hit to its water supply…
