A traffic stop by Montgomery County Police in downtown Silver Spring on July 10 led to the arrest of two individuals after officers discovered a loaded handgun hidden under a car seat.
According to MCPD 3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos on Twitter/X, “Downtown Silver Spring traffic stop leads to another gun arrest Last night (7/10/25) your @mcpnews 3rd District evening shift patrol officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in the 8000 block of Georgia Avenue just north of the Washington DC line.
During the stop both occupants were acting nervous and suspicious. A loaded handgun was seen by an officer partially hidden under the front seat of the car. Both occupants were safely placed under arrest and transported to central booking for the illegal possession of the handgun.”…
