2nd crash involving Thornton police vehicle with active lights, sirens in under 2 weeks

DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a crash that involved a Thornton police officer on Wednesday night.

The crash led to road closures near Thornton Parkway and Grant Street. The crash was reported by the Thornton Police Department at about 6:15 p.m.

The agency said that preliminary information shows that a driver of a red Toyota sedan did not yield while an officer was responding to an incident with lights and sirens activated.

The officer was not injured, but the agency did not share the other driver’s condition.
