Drivers left in dark as copper wire theft remains problem in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A big problem on Tucson roadways could be getting worse, and it could cause danger if you’re driving.

Tucson’s Department of Transportation and Mobility said copper wire thefts are a continuous problem in the area.

“There are about 23,000 street lights throughout the city of Tucson,” said TDOTM spokeswoman Erica Frazelle. “There are currently about 4,200 street lights that are out.”…
