‘Turtleboy’ pushes to release impounded messages lawyers claim are ‘embarrassing’

Lawyers for the blogger Aidan Kearney, known as “Turtleboy,” are pushing a Norfolk Superior Court judge to lift protective orders that shield what they have described as “embarrassing” communications from officials from public view.

The motion was filed this week in Norfolk Superior Court, where Kearney faces numerous indictments charging him with the intimidation of witnesses in the Karen Read case. In it, attorneys Tim Bradl and Mark Bederow claim the documents they want released show “at best highly questionable, and at worst, corrupt activity on the part of government officials.”

While the filing does not name the officials, Bederow pointed specifically to former Massachusetts State Police trooper Michael Proctor, who was fired for misconduct in the Read case…
