‘God have mercy on your soul’: Family of teen victims confront DUI suspect in court

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The families of multiple teenage victims who were hit by another driver on the Fourth of July addressed the suspect during an emotional bond hearing on Thursday.

Kevin Clinton Harrison is charged with five counts of felony DUI after investigators said he hit a Toyota Camry head-on, killing 15-year-old Chasity Nelson and injuring four other victims.

“Chasity was a one-of-a-kind woman who lit up every room she walked into,” a spokesperson for the family said during the hearing. “She was quiet in nature but full of purpose. She was compassionate, kind, and deeply driven by her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She was dedicated to caring both for people and animals. Chasity was not just a student. She was a role model. She was a beacon in her community and a future leader. Her life was stolen way too soon by Kevin Harrison.”

The mother of one of the surviving victims said her daughter was traumatized after riding in an ambulance with the suspect on the way to the hospital. She said her daughter forgave Harrison, but was angry at him…
