Florida man accused of hiding Apple AirTag in ex-girlfriend’s car

NAPLES, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested Tuesday after being accused of hiding an Apple AirTag in his ex-girlfriend’s car and using it to track her location.

According to NBC affiliate WBBH, the woman was first made aware of the AirTag by a friend, which led to her discovering the device hidden inside the rear cargo compartment of her vehicle. She then reported it to the authorities.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the AirTag was registered to the woman’s ex-boyfriend, Kevin Perez, 21, and arrested him for unlawfully tracking the victim without her permission. The arrest report showed that the device pinged 15 times in just one week…
