A 55-year-old man was arrested by Ocala police in a motel room with methamphetamine after his elderly mother accused him of stealing her sport utility vehicle and fraudulently using her debit and credit cards to withdraw hundreds of dollars.
On Wednesday, June 25, an Ocala Police Department officer responded to a local apartment complex in reference to a theft incident. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the elderly victim who advised that her son, Derik Conrad Culp, had taken her SUV without her permission, according to the arrest report.
The victim advised that she had “hidden her car keys” to prevent Culp from taking the vehicle. However, the report stated that when the victim woke up at around 4 a.m. on the morning of June 25, she discovered that Culp and her SUV were both gone…
