Heroes Brewing Company’s last call: Rochester brewery to close amid ‘alcohol recession’ in America

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Heroes Brewing Company on Atlantic Avenue is closing its doors permanently on Saturday. The brewery, which opened in 2016, was known for more than just its beer: It donated proceeds from more than 60,000 cans of beer to support 85 local charities and organizations.

Greg Fagen, one of the co-founders, said the closure is due to industry challenges.

“This industry is facing a lot of headwinds right now. You have certainly the impact of tariffs and uncertainty in the economy which is affecting our costs, and it’s affecting the consumer’s willingness to spend dollars. You have the move towards non-alcoholic beverages. You have healthier living. You have cannabis,” Fagen said…
