S.F. police arrest 8, seize narcotics and loaded gun in citywide operation

Eight people were arrested and nearly a pound of suspected narcotics were seized during a drug enforcement operation this week, San Francisco police said Friday.

The operation which occurred on Wednesday and Thursday, uncovered a loaded gun, and suspected methamphetamine, rock cocaine, heroin, LSD and fentanyl, police said. The operation was carried out by officers assigned to the narcotics unit and Drug Market Coordination Center, which was first announced in 2023 by former Mayor London Breed as the city looked to disrupt open-air drug markets and combat overdose deaths.

Officers had probable cause to arrest the suspects on felony charges after observing drug dealing in multiple areas suspected of drug trafficking, police said.
