TOWN OF CLIFTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers completed a rescue earlier this week in St. Lawrence County.
Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 6, dispatch in Ray Brook received a call from Garmin reporting an SOS beacon on Cranberry Lake. The Garmin transferred the caller directly to dispatchers.

The 36-year-old from Syracuse had a leg injury and could not continue hiking the Cranberry Lake 50. Two Forest Rangers responded via boat, stabilized the injury, and transported the patient across the lake and back to their vehicle.
