John Grisham, Stacey Abrams headline new Talking Volumes series in St. Paul

Courtroom drama, mysteries, ballet royalty, a poet, and a Booker Prize finalist highlight the return of the Talking Volumes series from MPR and the Minnesota Star Tribune.

The discussion series, hosted at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, will feature John Grisham, voting rights activist and mystery author Stacey Abrams, ballet star Misty Copeland, best-selling poet Kate Baer, and the award-winning author of No One Is Talking About This, Patricia Lockwood.

It’ll start with Abrams, who, in addition to twice running for governor of Georgia, is a mystery novelist. On Sept. 10, she’ll join MPR’s Kerri Miller to discuss her latest mystery centered on Avery Keene, a former Supreme Court clerk.

That will be followed by a Sept. 25 appearance from Lockwood, who, in addition to authoring the Booker Prize finalist mentioned above, wrote the memoir Priestdaddy. Her new book, Will There Ever Be Another You, is about a woman trying to endure a global pandemic…
