GLEN ROSE, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas State Police said that a Florida native has been taken into custody in connection with a deadly 2023 hit-and-run crash.
According to a release from the ASP on Friday, the arrest comes following an incident on Oct. 22, 2023, in which troopers responded to a collision involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 30 westbound at Mile Marker 108.

Officials said that the crash resulted in the death of 23-year-old Anthony Valdez of San Antonio, Texas, who as operating a flatbed tractor-trailer. Police said that the driver of the second tractor-trailer, later identified as 57-year-old Richard Volz of Callaway, Florida, fled the scene.
ASP investigators said that Volz was initially in custody in Florida on unrelated charges and was extradited to Arkansas earlier this week. During an interview with investigators, they said he confessed to his involvement in a road rage incident that led to the deadly collision…
