A Springfield man died Wednesday afternoon, July 9, after a motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection of Republic Road and South Hemlock Avenue, one mile east of Republic, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 1:05 p.m. when a 2011 Chevrolet HHR, driven eastbound by a 39-year-old Springfield woman, failed to yield and turned in front of a westbound 2014 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14. The motorcycle struck the Chevrolet in the intersection.
The 25-year-old man operating the motorcycle, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by Cox EMS to Cox South in Springfield, where he was pronounced dead at 1:44 p.m. by Dr. Patrick Gilbreath…
